Whether you’re an engineer, public servant, business professional, or concerned citizen, NC Open Pass annual event, Civic Camp, is for you! Join us this Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21, right here at Smashing Boxes Suite 4 for this annual civic tech unconference, where business, tech, academia, and community members come together to openly innovate and improve our communities in partnership with local government. Reserve your spot by registering now!The NC Civic Camp event kicks off on Friday with keynote speaker Will Aycock, GM of Greenlight Network, City of Wilson’s fiber-to-the-home network. Aycock has helped grow Wilson’s gigabit fiber internet technology into a leading example of leveraging technology for citizen services, landing City of Wilson among the top 10 most “business-friendly small markets in the U.S.”Following the keynote, attendees can learn more about Smart Cities, a panel moderated by our friends from RIoT, or learn how to leverage data models for delivering impact in a workshop by Jonathon Ortiz, data.world.Unconference pitch sessions and voting begin at noon, followed by an afternoon of sessions led by the participants themselves in an unconference format. Come back on Saturday to participate in the Project Workday and hear pitches from a variety of teams and representatives of The Town of Cary, Community Expert Solutions, and more!
